Camcast recently had the pleasure of hosting senior students from Trinity Catholic College’s engineering class, offering them a hands-on introduction to the world of foundry work. The visit provided a unique opportunity for students to witness the foundation of engineering and manufacturing, giving them insight into the intricacies of producing high-quality metal castings.
The facility tour guided students through each stage of production, showcasing the end-to-end process from initial collaboration with designers and engineers to the final finishing touches. Students were introduced to every key stage: from the creation of casting molds to the intense pouring process, followed by blasting and finishing. This practical and visual journey allowed them to see firsthand how raw materials are transformed into finished products, highlighting the skills and precision required in each phase.
